Find the Right Fit

Two Ways to Keep the Power On

Choose automatic, whole-home protection or a lower-cost way to run the circuits you need from a portable generator. We will help you decide at your free in-home assessment.

Whole-Home Standby Generator

A permanently installed Generac unit that runs on natural gas or propane and starts on its own when the power goes out. An automatic transfer switch moves your home onto generator power and back again when utility power returns.

  • Starts automatically, even when you are away
  • Powers the circuits you choose, up to the whole home
  • Installed on a pad outside and wired to your panel

Portable Generator Connection

Already own a portable generator? We install a dedicated inlet and a manual transfer switch so you can safely run selected circuits from it, with no extension cords through the house and no risk of feeding power back onto the utility line.

  • A lower-cost way to get backup power
  • A safe, code-compliant hookup point
  • You choose which circuits stay on

Questions

Generator FAQs

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want to keep running during an outage, from a few essential circuits to the whole home. We size the generator during your free in-home assessment.

Should I choose a standby generator or a portable hookup?

A standby generator starts on its own and can run your whole home. A portable hookup costs less and lets you power selected circuits from a generator you already own. We can walk you through both.

Does a standby generator turn on automatically?

Yes. When utility power goes out, the automatic transfer switch starts the generator and moves your home onto it, then switches back when the power returns.
